The production of poultry for slaughter in live weight in Q1 2019 in Russia amounted to 1.62 million tons, which is 4.0% more than a year earlier (agricultural companies: about 1.54 million tons, +4.4 % to the level of 2017).
Egg production amounted to 10.6 billion eggs, which is 1.5% more than a year earlier (agricultural companies: 9.1 billion pieces, +2.1%).
"During the first quarter, poultry production was increased by agricultural producers in the Tambov, Rostov, Penza, Tula, Yaroslavl, Kaluga regions, Republics of Mari El and Crimea. Leningrad, Astrakhan, Yaroslavl, Ryazan regions and the Stavropol Territory are among the leaders in egg production," the head of the Department of Livestock and Breeding of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia Kharon Amerkhanov said.
