China sharply increased imports of Russian vegetable oil

May turned out to be record-breaking for Chinese imports of vegetable oil from Russia: only 2487.7 tons of it were imported this month at checkpoints in Inner Mongolia, which is 7.7 times more than in May 2019.

Over the five months of 2020, China increased its import of vegetable oil through the crossings of Inner Mongolia by 2.6 times in annual terms - up to 4854.6 tons. In value terms, oil imports also rose 2.6 times to $ 4.15 million. The main types of vegetable oil imported from Russia are soybean, rapeseed and mustard.
