China's expansion to the Far East: now agriculture

Following the meeting between the heads of government of Russia and the People's Republic of China, Moscow and Beijing signed an agricultural development plan in the Russian Far East and in Baikal region, as well as in northeast China. On the Russian side, it was signed by the Minister of Agriculture, Dmitry Patrushev, and the Minister of Economic Development, Maxim Oreshkin. In addition, the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Commerce of China signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of trade in services.

 

Earlier, during his visit to China, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said that Moscow and Beijing should double their trade. In 2017, the trade turnover of Russia and China, according to the Federal Customs Service, amounted to $ 87B. Dmitry Medvedev noted that China is still the largest trading partner of Russia. Russia also plans to change the structure of exports to China, the Russian prime minister said.
