Voronezh region: 950M RUR subsidies to agrocluster

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation plans to create in Voronezh region an agricultural machine-building cluster and an inter-university center of agrobiotechnologies. Within two months, an appropriate regional subprogramme on subsidizing costs can be adopted. It's about the cost for the creation and modernization of food industry enterprises and financial support for agriculture in the region with a total amount of budget financing of 950M RUR ($ 14.55M).

 

The Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Dmitry Patrushev at a meeting with the Governor of Voronezh region Alexander Gusev noted that Voronezh region is an active exporter of agricultural products and food. In January-July of the current year, the supply of agricultural products abroad in value terms exceeded $ 302M, which is 50% more than last year. Exports of grain crops, legumes, molasses increased. In addition to the CIS countries, Voronezh region cooperates with such countries as Egypt, Turkey, Lebanon, Switzerland, etc.

 

Governor Alexander Gusev told Dmitry Patrushev that the key task for agriculture in the region in the near future is to produce products with high added value, which is of interest to both the domestic and foreign markets.
