Omsk: Tests of fish products

The Expert Veterinary Laboratory of the Omsk Reference Center of the Rosselkhoznadzor (Omsky Biocluster member) received a sample of fish products (marinated pink salmon steak) as part of the production control of the companies.

Microbiological tests made it possible to detect pathogenic microorganisms (listeria). Listeria are widespread in the external environment; they are found in soil, water, and plants. Most often, Listeria are identified in the soils of fields where grasses have not been mowed for several years, since wilted and decayed grass promotes their reproduction. Food is mainly infected with Listeria during production and storage. It is known that at a temperature of + 4 ° C, listeria is capable of multiplying in food, meat and dairy products, unlike other microorganisms.
