The chairman of the board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Mikhail Myasnikovich, invited the leaders of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) to immediately decide to abolish all existing trade barriers and restrictions within the Union.
"We have a lot of barriers and exemptions in the trade in goods. The President of Belarus supported my proposal to make a decision at once: all countries remove barriers and restrictions and give governments the option not to create new ones. But this can only be the decision of the heads of state," Mikhail Myasnikovich said after meeting with Alexander Lukashenko. He emphasized that the existing barriers, in fact, are not decisive in trade, but "create a lot of obstacles for business and for people" and because of this "a negative social opinion is being formed that the union does not give anything." "If the parties agree to cancel them and not create new ones, it will be a great thing," the head of the EEC said.
