May 31, the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture Dzhambulat Khatuov, on behalf of the head of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia Dmitry Patrushev, held a meeting on the development of exports of the oil and fat industry in 2018. Participants of the meeting also discussed the necessary measures until 2025 as part of the implementation of the Export of Agricultural Products Priority Project.
The participants of the meeting noted the key position of fat and oil products in the structure of our country's exports - it is among the top three agricultural products in terms of foreign trade. Fully providing domestic consumption in vegetable oils, the industry annually demonstrates the growth of supplies to the world market.
A good basis for the development of the fat-and-oil industry can be considered the stable position of Russia in the world market of vegetable oils, the beginning of deliveries to the promising markets of China, Iran, etc., the availability of still unloaded production capacities (out of a possible 23.5 million tons a year is not loaded about 9 million tons), as well as a huge reserve of unused land, which must be actively used in agricultural production. There is a potential to multiply export up to 2025 from the current $ 3.1 billion (indicator for 2017).
