The Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin instructed the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economic Development to work out the financing of the state program for the involvement of agricultural land in circulation until August 24, 2020, the press service of the Russian government reports.
"The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, the Ministry of Finance of Russia and the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia should additionally work out the issue of financing the draft of a new state program for the effective involvement of agricultural land and the development of the land reclamation complex of the Russian Federation and submit agreed proposals to the government of the Russian Federation," the message says.
In April 2020, Mishustin said that he considered it important to systematically work out issues related to the involvement of unused agricultural land in the turnover. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, it is necessary to additionally involve about 12 million hectares of land. The prime minister also considers it necessary to carry out land reclamation work, which will be unbearable for farmers without state support. According to Mishustin, such measures should be carried out on a systematic, permanent basis and be reflected in the state program.
