The yield of wheat in Siberia as of August 30 is 41% higher than the indicator for the same date in 2017, according to the data of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation. If on August 30 of the last year the harvest from 1 ha was an average of 17.7 centner / ha, then on August 30 of this year - 25.5 centner / ha. Altai Territory has indicators higher by 46%, Novosibirsk region - 54%, and Omsk region almost doubled. Last year, according to Rosstat, the average yield in the Siberian District was 16.4 centner / ha.
"Wheat yield is higher than last year's figures in all three major producing regions (Altai, Omsk, Novosibirsk) .With weather conditions close to the average annual, the wheat yield in Siberia may be at the level of last year's high, despite the reduction in acreage," SovEcon analysts report. Thus, they note, Siberia can make a significant contribution not only to the all-Russian wheat harvest, but also to improving its quality indicators.
The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia expects a reduction in the harvest of cereals from 135.4M tons in 2017 to 100-105M tons in 2018, including the production of wheat is expected at 64.4M tons against 85.9M tons in 2017.
