On August 27, as part of an expanded meeting of the Presidium of the Omsk Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Siberian Branch (Omsky Biocluster member), public hearings of the draft law 'On Scientific and Scientific-Technical Activities in the Russian Federation' were held. The main speaker was Oleg Smolin, State Duma deputy, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Education and Science. He reported on the problems of Russian science, the modern legislative base of scientific and technical activity.
Rector of the Omsk State Technical University Anatoly Kosykh, deputy general director for scientific work of ONIIP JSC Sergey Krivaltsevich, director of technical policy of Omsktekhuglerod LLC Evgeny Galimsky also made reports. Chairman of the Omsk Scientific Center Valery Karpov introduced his proposals to the draft law, read out the proposals received at the address of the organization. Based on the hearing results, the participants decided to organize a working group to summarize and finalize the proposals for the bill for their subsequent transfer to the Committee on Education and Science of the State Duma.
