News of the 'Genetics & Breeding of Cattle Practice'

The new format of events for specialists - the Educational Week - took place within the Effective Livestock Program (operators - 'Genetics & Breeding of Cattle Practice' of Omsky Biocluster and the Interregional Center for Agro Industry Engineering).

The main goal of the Effective Livestock Program is to promote a modern approach in the organization of work of livestock enterprises, aimed primarily at achieving maximum economic performance. One of the main directions of this project is to improve the skills of managers and specialists of agricultural organizations, to inform about current trends in the industry, modern techniques and technological solutions that allow achieving good results.

Free seminars for specialists of agricultural enterprises of Omsk region on the reproduction of the herd took place during the whole week (from February 28 to March 2) at the site of SIBAGROCOMPLEX Group (member of Omsky Biocluster). This time, the focus was on the technological aspects of conducting artificial insemination of cattle and modern practices and directions for the prevention of infertility and fetuses of cattle.

25 people came to the training (operators for artificial insemination of cows and heifers, zootechnicians, breeders, veterinarians) from Sibiryak and Niva companies (Moskalensky district), Omskoye (Omsky district), Bogodukhovskoye (Pavlogradsky district), Khlebodarovsky JSC and Tselinnoe JSC (Russko-Polyansky district). The trainers are active specialists interested in their professional growth, 4th year students of the Department of Zootechnics, Commodity Science and Standardization of the Institute of Veterinary Medicine OmSAU (member of Omsky Biocluster).

Work with future specialists in the field of animal husbandry is also one of the priority activities of the Interregional Center for Agro Industry Engineering, since the shortage of personnel has long been one of the most important problems in the countryside. The purpose of such outreach activities is to increase interest in the specialty, an opportunity to communicate with specialists and try themselves in the future profession. This is the second event within the joint educational project of the members of Omsky Biocluster.
