A potato nematode was found in Omsk

Specialists of the Laboratory of Quarantine Phytosanitary Examinations and Surveys of the Omsk Reference Center of the Rosselkhoznadzor (Omsky Biocluster) are secured by the fact that the contamination of land in the Omsk region with the Golden Potato Nematode is only growing from year to year.

Analyzing the results of surveys since 2013, the agronomists of the Omsk reference center of the Rosselkhoznadzor note the fact of an increase in the area of identified foci, the number of nematode detection sites and the number of settlements and areas of the Omsk region. In 2013, 107.19 hectares of contaminated agricultural land were identified or 777 plots in 18 districts of the Omsk region, in 2014 - 124.18 hectares, in 2015 - 124.76 hectares, in 2016 - 134 hectares, in 2017 - 109.21 ha. For many years, the leader in the spread of nematodes is the Tyukalinsky district, where more than 24 hectares of land are infected with a golden potato nematode. 15 hectares of land are infected in Okoneshnikovsky, Nizhneomsky and Muromtsevsky districts.

Agronomists advise farmers to carry out preventive measures: to use non-resistant varieties, change of crop rotation, soil monitoring, phytosanitary control when importing planting material, timely laboratory monitoring of soil, decontamination of labor tools during soil processing.
