Grain: there will not be export duties

The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia does not see the prerequisites for imposing an export duty or other restrictive measures on grain shipments abroad. In this case, the agency is considering the possibility of implementing in 2018-2019, 1.5M tons of grain from the intervention fund, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture report.

 

On Monday, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Russia Oksana Lut held a regular meeting with the largest Russian grain exporters. During the meeting it was noted that the increase in export rates is not observed and is not forecasted in the future, the companies are delivering in the planned mode. The grain market is currently stable, and there are no factors that can significantly affect the balance change.

 

In addition, Oksana Lut drew the attention of business representatives to the importance of compliance with the regional balance in the planning of exports, in particular, the organization of shipments of grain from Siberia.

 

"The companies, within the framework of further cooperation, will submit to the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia the necessary calculations on the economic efficiency of grain exports from the Siberian Federal District for the first half of 2019," the ministry added.

 

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation expects that grain exports from Russia in the current agricultural year will be 44-45M tons, wheat - 35M.
