Russia: Agricultural holdings rating 2018

INFOLine, within the review 'Agroindustry of Russia. Results of 2018 and Trends of 2019. Prospects for Development until 2021' prepared the Rating of TOP-10 Russian Agricultural Holdings.

At the end of 2018, Miratorg Agribusiness Holding became the leader in the INFOLine rating with revenue of RUR 111.6 billion, excluding VAT ($ 1.68 billion). Note that the Bryansk Meat Company LLC is not included in this figure. The decline in revenue (-0.5%) following the results of 2018 was due to a significant decrease in the sale of imported meat (-32.7%) from Brazil against the background of a temporary ban. Sales of the company's own products grew by 12.6% in monetary terms.

Cherkizovo Group took the second place in the INFOLine rating, in addition, from the TOP-10 agricultural holdings, this company showed the most significant revenue growth - by 13.5% to RUR 102.6 billion ($ 1.54 billion). In the first half of 2019, Cherkizovo Group increased its growth rate - revenue grew by 25% compared to the same period last year to RUR 55.7 billion ($ 0.84 billion).

Rusagro Group with revenue of RUR 83 billion (+ 5%, $ 1.25 billion) took the third line. At the same time, Rusagro Group in the first half of 2019 showed revenue growth of 124%. According to INFOLine, at the end of the year, the company can achieve revenues of RUR 120-125 billion ($ 1.8 billion). Such growth is associated with the consolidation of the Solar Products assets, the further development of the dairy segment, as well as the acquisition of 22.5% of the Agro-Belogorye Group (it is possible that further absorption of the company will continue).

According to INFOLine, the main factors influencing the dynamics of the agricultural industry as a whole and agricultural holdings in particular remain the same: global market conditions, state support, and the realization of export potential. However, agricultural holdings are increasingly implementing a vertical integration strategy (from field to counter) in the domestic market. For example, in August last year Rusagro Group began operating in the dairy segment, Miratorg began production of sausages, and the Econiva agricultural holding plans to independently process all of its milk in the medium term.
