Russia is increasing the modified starches production

This year, Russia continues to maintain high growth rates in the modified starches production. According to the Federal State Statistics Service, in January-October 2019, the modified starches production increased to 42,000 tons, which is 36.3% more than the same period last year. The production of native starches increased by 4.0% to 237,600 tons.

 

Over the past year, Russia produced 281,300 tons of native starches (+ 23% by 2017) and 40,600 tons of modified starches (+ 98%). Along with an increase in production, Russia is increasing its exports and reducing its starch imports. In 2018, starch exports amounted to 35,300 tons (+ 53%), imports - 32,100 tons (-17%).
