Sales of all types of confectionery products in Russia in the Q1 2018 amounted to 248.3bn rubles ($ 3.99bn), which is 4.3% more than it was for the same period in 2017, according to Rosstat. And this growth is connected with the increase in consumption of confectionery products in the country, as retail prices for confectionery products in Russia in March 2018 decreased by 0.1% compared to March 2017. And since the beginning of the year, prices for sweets in the country have decreased by 0.07%.
Even higher dynamics in the Q1 2018 was in the manufacturing sector - the volume of confectionery output in Russia in the first three months of 2018 increased by 5.9% compared to the Q1 of the previous year to 840.4 thousand tons. Also in Russia export sales are actively growing, the dynamics of which even exceed the indicators of increasing domestic consumption. Thus, the export of Russian-made confectionery products in the Q1 2018 increased by 16.4% compared to the Q1 2017 to 104.3 thousand tonnes and set a new record for the volume of supplies to foreign markets. In the first three months of this year, Russian sweets were sold for $ 238.4m, which is 15.7% more than in the same period a year ago.
