FASIE and Start'Up'Academia: UMNIK-2018 is open

Fund for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises (FASIE) in Omsk region together with the Omsky Biocluster's StartUpAcademia held the first meeting of the UMNIK-2018 Regional School. As part of the event, an exhibition was organized in the lobby of the projects of the winners of the UMNIK Program, who are currently implementing their grant projects. In addition, school participants were able to familiarize themselves with the 'Management of Innovative Activity' book exhibition.

 

The event was opened by welcoming the participants, the chairman of the Omsk Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Siberian Branch (member of Omsky Biocluster) Valery Karpov. The Deputy Minister of Industry, Transport and Innovative Technologies of Omsk region Igor Lukyanov addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. A representative of FASIE in Omsk region (Omsky Biocluster partner), Deputy Chairman of the Omsky Biocluster Board, Vitaly Aleshchenko, presented the rules and regulations for UMNIK-2018 in Omsk region and presented the organizers of the competition sites.

 

The former participant of the UMNIK Program (2009 winner), and now the project manager of 2017 winners Alexander Tignibidin, Ph.D., associate professor of the Department of Oil and Gas, Standardization and Metrology of Omsk State Technical University, Director T-Master LLC, told how to win the UMNIK competition. Member of the expert jury, specialist in the commercialization of scientific projects, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Omsky Biocluster's StartUpAcademia Andreу Vizmintinov told the participants about the commercialization of scientific projects and questions asked by experts at the final of the competition. At the end of the theoretical part of the event, individual consultations were held with the future contestants.

 

"UMNIK is a real learning tool for all students and young teachers to promote innovation, moreover, it is a tool for financing their innovative projects and their subsequent phased commercialization," said Andrey Vizmintinov. "It's great that Omsk region has been participating in these competitions for several years now, and our representation, the UMNIK participants have positive experience and success stories."
