COVID-19 did not affect the activity of Titan-Agro LLC

The pig complex, meat processing plant and feed mill, which are part of the Titan-Agro LLC (Omsky Biocluster member), maintain stable performance indicators and supply high-quality local products to the Omsk region.

In March, a wave of rush demand for essential goods, including food, swept across Russia. The Omsk region has avoided a shortage of agricultural and livestock products, including due to the presence of a developed agricultural base, which includes the Pushkinsky feed mill, the Petrovsky pig farm and the Pushkinsky meat processing plant.

Three separate units of Titan-Agro during the pandemic period ensure uninterrupted production. As of the end of March, the number of pigs at the Petrovsky pig farm exceeds 60,000, sending animals for slaughter is carried out in accordance with the schedule. The situation with СOVID-19 did not lead to a decrease in production volumes; according to the results of the Q1 2020, a small (about 3%) increase in the volume of pork production was recorded compared to the same period in 2019. April deliveries of Titan-Agro products to Omsk retail are held as usual.

All Titan-Agro units have strengthened sanitary preventive measures. "The meat processing plant operates according to the approved production program, as it is a continuous cycle enterprise," said Alexander Kelin, director of the unit. "We comply with all recommendations of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare, conduct thermometry at the entrance, personnel use personal protective equipment and sanitizers."

Preventive innovations were introduced at the Petrovsky pig farm, but they are only an addition to the strict rules followed by the enterprise, which belongs to the IV compartment (the highest degree of biological protection). "Now the whole world is following enhanced personal hygiene and disinfection measures, and the pig-breeding enterprise has always functioned in this mode. All employees go through sanitary inspection rooms. We began to measure the temperature at the entrance and installed sanitizers for antiseptic treatment of hands, but otherwise we are working normally, according to the plan," said Petrovsky director Alexander Kopiev.

Measures to prevent the COVID-19 spread were also taken at the Pushkinsky feed mill. In January-April, the company recorded a positive trend in production and sales. "The only thing that coronavirus affected our work is the restriction of movement, which made it harder to present products in other regions," the company said.
