On September 5, the Omsk State Agrarian University (Omsky Biocluster member) became the venue for the rector’s hour (an annual event as part of the freshmen’s adaptation workshop). Speakers invited by the university rector Oksana Shumakova told freshmen about their development trajectory.
Opening the event, the rector of the Omsk State Agrarian University, Doctor of Economics, professor, Oksana Shumakova noted that university students will receive "professional and personal competencies, but it is necessary to strive for self-development. And it is also important to learn throughout life!".
The event’s speakers were, among others, a university graduate Pavel Starikov, who became a novice farmer and received a grant of RUR 1.5 million within the state program of the Omsk region Development of Agriculture and Regulation of the Markets for Agricultural Products, Raw Materials and Food of the Omsk region, a teacher of the linguistic center, a graduate of the Omsk State Agrarian University Jacopo Vigna-Taglianti (a member of the OmSAU International Friendship Club). Mikhail Kopeikin, a graduate of the Omsk State Agrarian University in 2017, spoke in a video message to freshmen about the possibilities of studying abroad, building a successful career elevator. As a student, he managed to study in the USA, China and Germany, to receive a European master's degree in Portugal. Now Mikhail Kopeikin heads the agricultural insurance department of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation. He wished freshmen to set global goals and to systematically move towards their achievement.
At the end of the meeting, freshmen were able to ask questions to the rector and receive sincere answers to them.
