Heads of municipalities are recommended to explain to residents the need to comply with the rules of buying and keeping pigs. The meeting noted the need to ban the keeping of animals in the outbreak areas during the year, the suppression of the importation of animals and pig production without accompanying documents.
"We need to learn how to control the livestock in private farms in real time, and pig owners must comply with basic veterinary standards for keeping pigs," said the Minister of Agriculture and Food of Omsk region Maxim Chekusov (according to the press service of the regional government).
At present, the draft of the regional program for the prevention and control of the ASF for 2018-2020 has been prepared and is being agreed upon. About 189 million rubles ($ 3.2 million) are envisaged for the prevention of ASF.
