Omsky Biocluster: Business mission for industrial technology parks

On April 5, the Association for the Development of Clusters and Technology Parks of Russia together with the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, with the support of the Government of the Republic of Mordovia, conducted a business mission to study the practical aspects of the formation and operation of industrial technology parks in Saransk (Republic of Mordovia). Omsky Biocluster became one of the participants of the business mission. In total, more than 30 regions participated in the event, more than 25 regions joined the work through a webinar.

The experts of the Association told in detail to representatives of relevant departments of the regions and the business community about the types of technology parks, their business models, regulatory support and technological infrastructure of an industrial technology park. One of the key questions of the entire business mission was a detailed analysis of the key aspects of the application for the competition for the allocation of subsidies to the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia in 2019.

At the end of the event, participants were able to more substantively examine the preparation of applications for competitive selection by the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia in terms of preparing documents, ask questions and get comprehensive answers from representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Association for the Development of Clusters and Technology Parks of Russia, as well as participants of the 2018 competitive selection. Throughout the business mission, questions to the speakers were received not only from the Technopark-Mordovia conference hall, but also via the webinar system.

The event results were summarized by the Director of the Association Andrei Shpilenko:

"The main purpose of the business mission was to show the most effective work models, especially the functioning of technology parks, to explain to the participants the nuances in the regulatory documents, including the allocation of subsidies. It was important to answer questions from SMEs. I believe that the business mission goal has been achieved, since the number of potential participants in the Ministry of Economic Development competitive selection has doubled."

The Association for the Development of Clusters and Technology Parks of Russia regularly holds events dedicated to the review of best practices on the functioning of industrial technoparks and the work of industrial clusters.
