Omsk region in 2018 will build 13 and design 25 roads to villages and villages where agricultural processing enterprises are located, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of Omsk region Maxim Chekusov told TASS. 458 million RUR ($ 7.31 million) will be allocated for these purposes.
"The Development of Agriculture and Regulation of Markets for Agricultural Products, Raw Materials and Food of Omsk region Program provides for the construction and reconstruction of 13 and the design of 25 roads to settlements where the agricultural processing enterprises are located. We consider the construction of roads as a real tool to support such enterprises," Maxim Chekusov noted.
According to the Minister, this program has been implemented in Omsk region for several years, but for the first time the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Construction are engaged in the development of road infrastructure together. "Before, there were facts that roads were built to small settlements where there are no enterprises. Now no road is built without the consent of our ministry. We are building roads where development is taking place, where farms are being built," Maxim Chekusov said.
He noted that the development of infrastructure is now the number one problem for agriculture in Omsk region. "We have learned to work, have learned to observe technologies in crop production, in animal husbandry, and in the processing of products, but development is restrained by infrastructure," the Minister believes. Maxim Chekusov noted that now it is required to quickly design new roads. "Already on July 1, we must send all the documents, then we will receive financing for their construction for the next year. If this is not done, we will lose a year and a half," he concluded.
