A register of food producers may appear in Russia. The Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) will maintain such a register and conduct state registration of production, this is stated in the prepared draft government decree.
According to the document, Rospotrebnadzor will carry out state registration of food production, as well as maintain a register of production facilities. The authorized body will assess the registered industries for compliance with the requirements of the Food Safety Technical Regulation.
In particular, we are talking about evaluating the following industries: processing slaughter products of productive animals and poultry; processing of raw milk, raw cream and raw skim milk; processing of eggs of poultry and products of their processing; processing aquaculture products and catching aquatic biological resources (non-fish fishing objects), with the exception of plant products.
The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) will prepare and send to Rospotrebnadzor a conclusion on the compliance of the registered industries that are engaged in the following activities: slaughter of productive animals and poultry; intake of raw milk, raw cream and raw skim milk; production of poultry eggs; production of aquaculture products and catch of aquatic biological resources (non-fish fishing objects), with the exception of plant products. In the case of signing, the decision shall enter into force on January 1, 2021.
