The production of food equipment in Russia grew by 7 %

Russian food engineering companies produced products worth 7.4B RUR ($ 108.42M) for 6 months of 2018, which is 7% more than in the same period last year. The greatest growth was demonstrated by domestic manufacturers of equipment for grinding and processing grain or dried vegetables - 45%, and companies that produce equipment for milk processing - 14%.

According to the Director of Russian Association of Specialized Machinery and Equipment (Rosspetsmash Association), Alla Elizarova, despite the difficult economic conditions, the industry has shown positive dynamics in recent years, and 2018 was no exception. Companies every year improve the quality of machines, produce improved and new models that are not inferior to foreign analogues. In connection with this, the demand for domestic equipment is growing and production, accordingly, is increasing.

In addition, the level of state support is of great importance for the development of food machine building in Russia. As an example, subsidizing discounts on products of food machinery, loans for the purchase of equipment for the food and processing industry, a share of the costs of production and sale to consumers of pilot batches of products, R & D, to pay interest on loans for implementation of integrated investment projects, concessional loan financing at a rate of 5% per annum of the Industrial Development Fund, a set of measures to support exports. This year, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia has already compensated companies for discounts on their products in the amount of 200M RUR ($ 2.93M).

Domestic manufacturers increase sales of their products abroad. Export deliveries of Russian equipment for 6 months of 2018 increased by 57% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 2.2B RUR ($ 32.23M). Thanks to comprehensive government support, by the end of 2018, Russia expects an increase in the production of food equipment by 10% compared to 2017.
