Food wheat makes up 70% of Omsk grain

Omsk region completes the harvest. The weather allows farmers to quickly harvest crops in the coming days. 2.9 million tons of grain were harvested in the region with a yield of 16.4 c / ha. In 2019, a lot of oilseeds were sown: flax, rapeseed and sunflower, which were threshed 177,900 tons with a yield of 9.4 c / ha. Harvesting of vegetables and potatoes is coming to an end. As of the current date, vegetables have been harvested from an area of 3,700 ha, the gross harvest amounted to 80,800 tons with a yield of 218.1 c / ha. Potatoes are harvested from an area of 23,400 ha, gross harvest is 416,900 tons with a yield of 178,400 kg / ha.

 

This year, grain quality by the end of the harvesting campaign decreased slightly due to rainy autumn. Nevertheless, more than 70% of food wheat was revealed from the total gross grain harvest, which makes it possible to provide high-quality grain to residents of both the Omsk region and other regions.

 

The Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Omsk region Nikolai Drofa noted that today the export volume of food products and agricultural raw materials for the 7 months of 2019 amounted to $ 90.9 million, and Omsk agricultural products are exported to 42 countries. The largest share of agricultural exports belongs to grain crops (wheat, barley and oats) - 27%. 126 500 tons of grain worth $ 24.2 million were sent for export during the reporting period. The largest share in the grain export structure is occupied by barley, which shipped 80,300 tons worth $ 15.9 million. Omsk grain is shipped not only to Russian regions, but also to foreign countries: Turkey, Latvia, Norway, Libya, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Egypt.
