All cereal seeds are pathogenic

Experts of the Plant Protection Laboratory of the Omsk Reference Center of the Rosselkhoznadzor (Omsky Biocluster member) in November analyzed 580 tons of grain seeds from 15 batches of the harvest in 2020 to establish the presence of pathogens of root rot and superficial saprophytic infection.

During the inspection, it was found that in the tested seeds there is not a single batch free of diseases. All seeds are weakly infected with a pathogenic complex, including both saprophytic and parasitic pathogens (causing fusarium and helminthiasis). The predominant group of diseases spreads both through seeds and through the soil.
