Efko Group will build a plant for the production of enzymes for the processing of eggs

Efko Group until the end of 2018 expects to launch in Belgorod region the first major Russian production of enzymes for food products worth 470 million rubles ($ 8.04 million). Due to it, Efco plans to fully meet Russia's domestic needs for enzymes for deep processing of eggs and become the dominant player in the market with an annual capacity of about 4 billion rubles. Experts believe that the main effect of the project will be a decrease in the cost of Efco's mayonnaise and an escalation of competition in this market.

The company will produce enzymes for the food industry: phospholipase (7.8 tons per year), immobilized lipase (21 tons) and chymosin (25 tons).

One producer of enzymes for the food industry is already operating in Central Russia - Agroferment LLC (Tambov region). It produces phytase, cellulase, xylanase and other preparations in a dry and concentrated form, but they are used in another area (first of all, they are added to mixed fodder), and the production capacity relative to the domestic market is small (about 1 thousand tons per year). The largest share in the Russian market of enzymes belongs to two world leaders - Novozymes and Danisco (both companies from Denmark), up to 40% of the total. In most cases, these are supplies of enzymes to the food industry.
