Counselor for trade and economic issues of the Chinese Embassy in Russia Zhao Quan said that the volume of consumption of sunflower oil in China over the past two years has increased significantly. Over the past year, 34 million tons of vegetable oil were supplied to the Chinese market. The volume of own production was at the level of 6.3 million tons, and the volume of imported products reached 27.7 million tons, an increase of 14%. At the same time, Russia continues its active expansion in this segment and in the future will become one of the main suppliers of vegetable oil to the Chinese market.
According to Zhao Quan, cooperation between Russia and China is necessary. We are talking about joint trading companies, as well as joint production. Companies of China are ready to create joint ventures for processing on the territory of Russia, so that the manufactured products are exported to the Chinese market. This will benefit both our countries.
According to the official forecast of the Chinese side, China will import goods and services worth more than $ 10 trillion over the next five years, which gives foreign countries great chances for business development. Agricultural and food products are given increased attention.
