According to the monitoring of the Ministry of Agriculture, in 2018, the industrial production of cheese in Russia grew by 2.5%, to 472,600 tons. At the same time, Q1 2019 shows even greater dynamics in cheeses. In January-March, 115,600 tons of domestic cheese were produced, which is 10.5% more than last year.
Also in 2018, the volume of production of sausages, including products for baby food, increased by 1% and amounted to slightly more than 2,280,000 tons. In Q1 2019, production figures remained at the same level as last year. According to estimates by the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, this year the trend of growth in the production of cheese and sausage products will continue. One of the growth factors is the increase in the volume of agricultural raw materials and the implementation of new investment projects in this segment with government support.
