Sausage and meat semi-finished products will rise in price

Large meat processors, including Ostankino and Dymov, reported a sharp increase in procurement prices for raw materials. So,  sausage and semi-finished products can rise in price very soon.

According to meat processors, pork has become more expensive by 20% since July 16, turkey since May 15 - by 40%, chicken - by 25%. Also, delivery times increased, and suppliers began to violate obligations, selling meat is more expensive than under the contract.

As predicted by the executive director of the National Union of Meat Processors Yekaterina Luchkina, retail prices for meat products may grow by 5-12% in the near future. Market participants explain this rise in prices by a rise in price of fodder, an ASF outbreak and a decrease in competition in the market after the ban on imports of meat from Brazil. "The ban on imports created a deficit, raw material prices rose to a historic high," says Mikhail Popov, chairman of the Ostankino board of directors.

In Russia, the largest producers of meat products are Ostankinsky Meat-Packing Plant, ABI PRODUCT and Cherkizovo. In addition, the own trademarks of the Auchan and Magnet networks are among the top 30 most popular manufacturers.
