Trips was found in chrysanthemums imported to Omsk

The quarantine pest was found by the specialists of the Laboratory of quarantine phytosanitary examinations and surveys of the Omsk Reference Center of the Rosselkhoznadzor (member of Omsky Biocluster) in potted chrysanthemum plants brought to Omsk region from the Netherlands.

During the analysis, western (Californian) flower thrips were identified. This insect of a closed ground is dangerous to an equal degree both for floral and ornamental plants, and for vegetable crops. Tryps prevents the formation of full flowers. The surface of the leaves populated with thrips, discolored in the form of strokes, in places of nutrition, there are depressions, and then necrosis.

Information on the results of the expert examinations of this sample by specialists of the Omsk Reference Center was sent to the Rosselkhoznadzor Office for Omsk region.
