Tereos, the largest sugar producer in France, intends to build a plant in the Novosibirsk region to process half a million tons of grain per year.
Construction is planned by a subsidiary company in this area, Syral. The implementation of the project will make it possible to solve the problem of increasing domestic consumption in the region. Previously, the project was discussed at a bilateral meeting between Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Gordeyev and Tereos CEO Alexis Duval. The company discussed plans to enter the Russian market, as well as the development of new areas (for example, the production of food products from cereals). Also, two similar plants of similar capacity will be created in the European part of the country. Project details have not yet been determined; at this stage, sites are selected.
