On the eve of the state visit of US President Donald Trump to China (November 8-10), supplies of American beef to the Chinese market resumed after a 14-year hiatus. The USA is the largest producer of beef in the world.
The consumption of beef in the PRC has been growing steadily for several years. The import of US beef in part will reduce the deficit.
