Omsk State Agrarian University (member of Omsky Biocluster) has become a place to consider the intermediate results of the industry. The event was held on the eve of the International Scientific and Practical Conference on Effective Livestock Development, becoming a business platform for discussing all issues and problems related to the livestock sector in the region.
Omsk region is the fourth largest producer of milk in the Siberian Federal District. In total, according to the forecasted data, the region in 2017 will produce 627.9 thousand tons of milk, including 375.5 thousand tons in the agricultural enterprises and peasant farms, which exceeds the figures of the previous year by more than 20 thousand tons.
"This important direction in agriculture is given special attention and today it is necessary to implement a strategy for the export of livestock products," said Maxim Chekusov, Minister of Agriculture and Food of Omsk region, at the beginning of the plenary part of the meeting.
According to Alexander Kurzanov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of Omsk region, the farms must prepare a high-quality, balanced diet, observe the technology for caring for animals, have a milking parlor, engage in genetics, manage the reproduction of the herd, and train highly skilled cadres in animal husbandry .
It should be noted that 137 livestock facilities were constructed, reconstructed and modernized in the dairy cattle breeding sub sector, 35,700 livestock were built, and 30 milking parlors were built in five years. The amount of investments amounted to 3.2 billion rubles ($ 53.91 million).
Omsky Biocluster was one of the initiators of the creation of the Interregional Center for Agro Industry Engineering. The Center is a professional platform for experts from Novosibirsk, Omsk and Tomsk regions, which provides for cooperation in the provision of engineering consulting, pre-project and project services, development of human resources in the agroindustrial complex, increasing the investment attractiveness of the agroindustrial complex, forming a resource database, laboratory equipment, personnel, implementation of expert activities in the agroindustrial complex.
