Sheep breeding always determined the economy and life of Transbaikalia

Omsky Biocluster within the 'Opinion' column announces a new series of reports 'Regions of Russia'. The first guest of the series was Acting Minister of Agriculture of Transbaikal Territory Vladimir Loskutnikov.

 

The head of the Ministry of Agriculture of Transbaikal region noted that livestock production remains the leading branch of the regional agro-industry. The share of livestock products in agricultural production in the region is 75%. Transbaikal Territory steadily holds the leading positions among the subjects of the Siberian Federal District and the Russian Federation in terms of the number of livestock, sheep and goats, horses, wool production. As Vladimir Loskutnikov emphasized in his interview, it was sheep breeding that always determined the economy and life of Transbaikalia.
