Ethanol producers in the European Union (EU) countries produced 3.83 million tonnes of DDGS in 2019, the Ethanol Producers Association estimates. This is more than in previous years, and almost all of the product was used in the production of animal feed.
At the same time, bioethanol producers are now raising the issue of government support for the industry, which is in a difficult situation in the face of declining world energy prices. In such a situation, further growth in production is not guaranteed, especially if the coronavirus pandemic does not end soon.
