The Higher School of Economics (HSE) will become one of the leading centers of expertise for the development of agriculture and the environment, rural areas, agricultural biotechnologies and the system of agroecology, increasing agricultural exports, as well as accompanying the reform of state regulation of waste management.
The relevant agreement was reached at a meeting of the Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Gordeyev with the HSE research team, the press service of the Deputy Prime Minister reports. "The main goal today is to define a kind of creative center for the development of integrated solutions for the main areas of work. This is ensuring environmental safety and creating an effective waste management system, these tasks are defined in the Ecology National Project. And the development of agriculture in the widest range of tasks, most of which are included in the national project to support exports and cooperation and are associated with a doubling of agricultural exports by 2024," said A. Gordeyev. In addition, much attention is paid to improving the quality of life in the countryside. "Perhaps this aspect will be the next national project, which will be focused on the whole range of problems of rural development," noted A. Gordeyev.
The Vice Premier added that he is ready to involve HSE experts in participating in relevant working groups and councils, having worked out the most optimal interaction model for this, so that researchers not only know about the government decisions made, but also have an influence on their development and adoption.
