Head of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs Yaroslav Nilov wrote a letter to Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev with a proposal to prohibit the baking of bread from fodder grain.
As specified in the text of the appeal, increasing the baking qualities of flour from feed grain is often achieved by adding artificial additives, most of which are traditionally produced abroad. The deputy notes that even taking into account the growing scale of exports of the best quality grain abroad, the amount of food wheat remaining in the country is sufficient to meet the needs of flour milling enterprises.
