Head of US Food Company Tyson Foods Inc. Noel White warns of possible growth in world meat prices after China killed tens of millions of pigs infected with ASF.
Tyson predicts that meat prices for consumers will rise in the coming months. The company is also waiting for an increase in profits from the production of pork, beef and chicken. According to Noel White, the potential effects of last year’s ASF outbreak are unprecedented and could reduce global meat supply by 5% during the rise in global protein intake. It will be many years before the balance is normalized again, White expressed his opinion to analysts during a teleconference after the publication of the Tyson report for the second financial quarter.
