On the day of the final panel of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, a working meeting between the Minister of Agriculture of Russia Alexander Tkachev and the head of Omsk region Alexander Burkov was held. Alexander Tkachev noted the good performance achieved by the agricultural producers in Omsk region.
The parties discussed the agro-industry issues in the region. In particular, Alexander Burkov again drew attention to the need to increase grain export quotas for the region at preferential tariffs in 2018-2019, as this practice has already had a positive effect for Omsk farmers. "In 2017, we increased the volume of exports of food and agricultural raw materials: to foreign countries - $ 55 million, to the countries of the CIS - $ 57 million. Grain crops account for more than 50 percent of the region's exports. For the expansion of foreign sales markets we have organized in the duty-free zone of Manchuria Omsk trading house," said Alexander Burkov.
Alexander Tkachev agreed that the subsidy for rail transportation in Omsk region worked efficiently, the grain was exported and this, naturally, positively affected its price. The head of the Ministry of Agriculture also promised that this support system will be prolonged in 2018. "We will necessarily increase the amount of support not only for the railway, but also for the so-called transport tariff of private companies that contain cars, and thus we will achieve that it would be profitable to carry grain from any part of the country, any region, to sell its surplus, because, and this is obvious, we will grow by the volume of its production, " said the Minister. The Federal Ministry of Agriculture is ready to consider the possibility to give Omsk region a limit on the transportation of grain in the amount of 500 thousand tons.
Alexander Burkov also recalled that Omsk is waiting for the Minister in June at an event dedicated to the anniversary of Omsk State Agrarian University (member of Omsky Biocluster) '100 years for the glory of Siberia and Russia', within of which a meeting is planned on the development of rural areas with the participation of Omsk farmers and agricultural producers.
