Potatoes was checked in Omsk

The Laboratory of Quarantine Phytosanitary Examinations and Surveys of the Omsk Reference Center of the Rosselkhoznadzor (Omsky Biocluster member) helps farmers prepare for the sowing campaign. From the beginning of the year, experts examined 11,740 tons of ware potatoes (369 samples).

The analyzes were carried out not only for harmful organisms found in the Omsk region, such as the golden potato nematode, but also for pathogenic bacteria, viruses and viroids: brown potato rot, potato Andean latent thymovirus, potato T virus and potato tuber spindle type.

All of the above pathogens were studied using a modern method of laboratory diagnostics, real-time polymerase chain reaction, based on the methods of the All-Russian Plant Quarantine Center and the diagnostic protocols of the European and Mediterranean Plant Protection Organization. The causative agents of the disease in the ware potato were not detected, respectively, it can be said that the Omsk region is clear of this pathogen.
