Deputy Ministers of Agriculture of Russia Maxim Uvaidov and Oksana Lut held a meeting on the export of meat products. The event was attended by representatives of relevant departments of the Ministry, sectoral associations and agricultural industry companies. As was noted during the meeting, China is one of the most promising export markets for Russia.
So, this year Russia has already delivered to the China 18,700 tons of poultry meat worth more than $ 41 million. Moreover, the dynamics of deliveries from month to month shows steady growth, increasing from 54 tons in February this year to more than 7,500 tons in August. According to the Ministry, the volume of exports of these products to China by the end of this year may exceed $ 100 million.
In turn, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation sets the task for the industry to intensify the export of poultry meat and offal (chicken and turkey) to the Chinese market. Now, 31 Russian companies can supply poultry meat to China. However, there is interest from other manufacturers for inclusion in this list. The agenda also included issues related to the expansion of supplies of Russian meat products (pork, beef, poultry, lamb) to promising sales markets. Also, interaction is now being carried out with the competent services of foreign countries as part of the work to ensure the access of agricultural products for export. The purpose of communications is to remove tariff and non-tariff restrictions.
