Chinese investors plan to allocate about $ 460 million for the construction of 30 new granaries in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso, Soybean & Corn Advisor reports.
Granaries will be built in ten key regions of the state with the assistance of NovaLog. After the completion of the construction, the facilities will be sold to Brazilian companies, cooperatives and private individuals.
According to the Conab Agency, the deficit of grain storage in Brazil is currently estimated at about 50 million tons, while in the state of Mato Grosso this figure is 19 million tons. This situation forces local farmers to realize the harvest even during harvesting, when prices are at a minimum level, and transportation costs are at the maximum.
