Experts of the 'Genetics & Breeding of Cattle' Practice of Omsky Biocluster summed up the results of the December session of the winter track of the Effective Livestock Program. In December 2017, specialists of SIBAGROCOMPLEX Group (member of Omsky Biocluster), together with experts from the Russian Academy of Management in Livestock Production of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, visited the Center for Embryo Transplantation in the Krasnoyarsk Territory (functioning at the site of Nazarovskoye JSC of the Krasnoyarsk Territory) at the invitation of the head of the company to determine the reasons for the low efficiency of the embryo transplant procedure.
Work on identifying the deficiencies at each stage of transplantation was carried out for several days, starting with the preparation of donors, the technology of washout, freezing, storing and replanting embryos, selecting, preparing and hormonal treatment of recipients. Based by the study results, a detailed analysis was carried out and a set of recommendations was developed. Set includes veterinary activities, the use of equipment for the laboratory, hormonal regimens and a diet for donors and recipients, emphasis on strict adherence to the developed embryotransplantation technology, including the quality of the medium used, modes of freezing and thawing embryos, as well as the use of acupuncture to stimulate the reproductive system and improve the level of engraftment, etc.
The implementation of recommendations by the specialists of Nazarovskoye JSC allowed to dramatically increase the efficiency of embryo transplantation. By now, the percentage of engraftment has increased from 13 to 45%, which corresponds to the level of the best Russian companies engaged in this technology on domestic-produced embryos. Taking into account the obtained results, Valery Isaev, director of Nazarovskoye JSC, said that he was ready to sign a long-term cooperation agreement with SIBAGROCOMPLEX to provide engineering services in the field of embryo transfer, breeding and breeding work and herd reproduction. Now SIBAGROCOMPLEX Group has in the staff two graduates of embryotransplantation.
