Russia by 2030 will increase the production of grain, oilseeds and potatoes

The Russian Federation intends to increase the production of grain, oilseeds and potatoes by 2030, said Petr Chekmarev, who heads the department of plant growing of the Ministry of Agriculture.

 

"The production strategy until the year 2030 is 150 million tons of grain," Chekmarev said. "Accordingly, we need to have 50 million hectares of grain crops with a yield of 3 tons per hectare." In accordance with the state program of agribusiness development, the gross grain harvest in the country this year will be 106 million tons, next year - 108 million tons, in 2020 - 110 million tons. Since 2021, the authorities plan to consistently increase the harvest by 4 million tons per year - up to 150 million in 2030. Last year, Russia received a record harvest of oil crops - 16.495 million tons. This year, production may reach 16.335 million tons, RIA Novosti reported.

 

The production of potatoes can grow to 32 million tons in 12 years from 29.6 million tons last year.
