Cherkizovo wants to replace the US

Cherkizovo Group, a leading Russian meat producer, said it was ready to fill the food supply shortage created by the United States to the world's most populous market, China, which is struggling with the problem of a cumulative shortage of meat products supply due to the US. Cherkizovo already began shipping poultry products to China last month and is now looking forward to selling pork and soy beans to China.

Sergei Mikhailov, Cherkizovo’s director general, said that Cherkizovo, as a first step, plans to ship from one to one and a half thousand tons of poultry products, mainly chicken legs, wings and legs, to the Chinese market next month, and then quickly increase supplies to 2-3 thousand tons per month. So far, Russia remains a small exporter of both pork and soybeans, but Mikhailov says that the country's vast land and water reserves, as well as close relations with China, will make Russia a reliable supplier to meet the demand in the Chinese market.

Today, the United States, Brazil and Argentina are the main suppliers of soybeans to China, while Russia provides only a small share of the total, while Germany, Canada, Brazil, Spain and the Netherlands remain at the top of the list of countries exporting pork to China.
