March 14, Moscow hosted the international conference 'Deep Processing of Grain: the Formation of a Value Sequence', at which Evgeny Akhpashev, director of the Department of Food and Processing Industry, made a report on the development of deep grain processing in Russia.
The growing production of grain crops places particular importance on their processing for the production of gluten, native starch (and, accordingly, modified starch, glucose and its derivatives, glucose-fructose syrups, organic and amino acids), bioethanol.
"Considering the significant volumes of gross grain harvest in the Russian Federation and the capacity of the world market, it is advisable to develop the export of grain processing products," said Evgeny Akhpashev. He stressed that, according to the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, the potential for increasing the production of deep grain processing products to 2035 is more than 1.3 billion dollars in monetary terms, that is, more than three times the current volume of production. However, such projects are characterized by high capital intensity, the more important is the expansion of state support for deep grain processing for partial compensation of costs.
The conference participants discussed the balance of support instruments at the federal and regional levels, the formation of value sequence in the grain sector. Speakers analyzed the prospects for the development of deep grain processing in Russia.
