Siberian agrarians need to focus on exporting their products to China and South-East Asia, said Anatoly Kutsenko, director of the Department of Economics, Investments and Regulation of Agroindustry Markets of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation during the Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum.
"Export for Siberia will be a key topic. All the growth potential that we see can be oriented to the Chinese market, to Southeast Asia in different directions, so as not to compete with the Central Federal District with more favorable weather conditions and greater activity of agricultural producers in the local market, plus less logistics costs. Therefore, we are targeting that you primarily concentrate your efforts on trade with Southeast Asia," Kutsenko said.
The first deputy head of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Dzhambulat Khatuov said that the work to reduce the volume of grain in elevators in Siberia will be implemented in the coming years. "The so-called intervention fund, the volume of which is stored in grain storage facilities in Siberia, we will reduce it, we will release grain storage facilities for linear export batches, including for domestic deliveries ... We expect that in the next two years the reserves will be reduced by half," said Khatuov.
He also noted that "there is a complete understanding that the operators of the cars will be very attentive to the applications of today exporters of Siberia." At the same time, the first deputy minister said that the agrarians should ensure the operative loading of the cars.
