Russian Railways intends to create a special structure in the Siberian Federal District responsible for the timely dispatch of wagons with grain from Omsk and Novosibirsk regions.
The head of the operational department of the Center for Corporate Transport Services of the Russian Railways, Sergei Sautenkov, reported on the creation of the new center during the meeting of the operational center of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture in Novosibirsk. The creation of such a structure will make it possible to establish a more stringent loading schedule, he is sure. This, in turn, will help to use grain carriers more efficiently and reduce the downtime of wagons under loading, including on weekends, Sautenkov is sure.
The West Siberian Railway is expected to form accelerated grain trains to the south, and the delivery time of grain will be reduced by 5-7 days. In addition, Russian Railways would have all the necessary data in order, if necessary, to allocate additional locomotives for the transportation of grain and to plan the staff of station workers. The creation of the center is due to the fact that the Siberian regions are currently experiencing a shortage of wagons for grain exports.
