The head of Omsk region, Alexander Burkov, met in Moscow with the head of the Federal Agency for Scientific Organizations (FASO Russia) Mikhail Kotyukov. The main issue was the use of Omsk science resources for the development of agro-industrial complex projects.
The Omsk Agrarian Research Center was established in Omsk on the basis of the Siberian Research Institute of Agriculture, All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Brucellosis and Tuberculosis of Animals and the Siberian Scientific Research Institute of Poultry in 2017.
The head of Omsk region Alexander Burkov:
"I believe that science can really help business to become more effective - it must invest in science. Science should not exist separately, science can help businesses make a push. We have a positive experience of the Institute of Hydrocarbon Processing Problems of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences with enterprises of the oil and gas sector, where science really became applied. We must ensure the same close interaction of science and business in agriculture, using the potential of the agricultural research center."
Mikhail Kotyukov supported the request of the head of Omsk region to allocate funding in the amount of 30 million rubles ($ 531.7 thousand) in 2018 for the development of the Center.
